Memorial Day Weekend Vermont
Happy Memorial Day weekend, there is so much do!
On Saturday, join in the fun in Essex Junction at their Annual Memorial Day parade. After the laying of the wreaths at 9:30, the parade will leave the Champlain Valley Exposition at 10:00 and head towards 5 Corners in Essex Junction. The parade route is approximate 1 ½ miles long.
Parade enthusiasts can do a double whammy on Monday – there are back-to-back Memorial Day parades in Middlebury and Vergennes. Middlebury begins at 9:00 am at Porter Field off of South Street and finishes at monument across from the intersection of Rte. 7 and Washington Street. Then head on up to what is known as on one of Vermont’s largest Memorial Day celebrations in Vergennes. This parade begins at the High School and winds through the city to end up at Vergennes City Park. Enjoy 2 miles of color guards, veterans’ groups, Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts, lots of colorful floats, antique cars, parade horses, fire trucks, marching bands, kids on bikes and a whole lot more.
